April Auction LOOT! Buy like a dealer

I love auctions. Fabulous antiques, vintage pieces and everything in between passes through the auction world.  The antique market has really suffered during the last 5 years and today is a GREAT time to invest in some special pieces (especially 18th century furniture).  Remember if you buy real antiques at auction you can usually sell for more at a future auction.  Auctions can also be the best place to find that special impossible to find piece. My advice: educate yourself on one very particular style and spend some time looking at the auction values of past listings sold. Then go in strong, bid, and win. Most dealers and designers shop at auction and if you know what to want to buy you can get a great bargain before a dealer marks it up to retail value.

Buying at auction has also become very simple: Most auction houses allow you to bid online or by phone. Companies like Uship.com make it inexpensive and painless to move your auction spoils directly to you from all over the country. Here are some unique picks for April!
