Splurge or Save: Fabulous Drapes

Budgets are important part of any project.  Sometimes I think it's worth splurging on one part of our plan and saving on other parts.

Here are some curtains that could get you there in style in both categories and not look dated.  Curtains can be expensive but you can also get the look for less.

Splurge Combination 1.  CHINOISERIE PANELS:

COMBINE:

Nanjing Porcelain by Schumacher with Blue Cord Trim  (about $350 per panel)

or upgrade to a tassel trim (like temple bells from the pagoda)  This would give it a richer heavier look.  $400 a panel

Splurge Combination 2.  Rich paisley panels

Make your den or library into a clubby retreat!  $400-600 per panel.  Above is Schumacher's Cambay Paisley Print Sandalwood.  Another option with equal wow effect would be Brunschwig & Fils Chandigarh.

SAVE (ideas to achieve the look on a budget)

Country Curtains buffalo check curtains.  Super classic  $74.99 per panel.  Come in a beautiful yellow and a red.  The fabric costs this much.  Buy buy!  If only they would do a tan check.
Right: Simple Linen panels.  $99 half price drapes. Left: JC Penny American Living $50  Make sure to get them wide and long to get that luxurious drape.

Country Curtains Balloon Curtains $49  A wonderful soft look.  Pair with drapes.  I love the maidenhead fern and planter!

JC Penny?  An unlikely source and yet these are fabulous curtains for only $50 per panel.
Perfect toile nursery Rhyme Nursery panels.  Gorgeous!  Go Wide and long for luxury.  The 96" x 42 is only $84 per panel.

Baby Bedding.com  Ignore the site name this is a great modern panel for a updated master bedroom too.  $84 for long and wide panels.
