I love Chinese Chippendale. Clearly I'm not alone since it's been in style since the the 18th century. The Virginia countryside can boast having great chinese chippendale examples of this marvelous fretwork on 18th century furnishings and homes. Jefferson and Madison both used touches of it it on their respective homes. The elegant geometry is fabulous.

The Chinese Chippendale chair is one of my favorite additions to many decorating schemes. It can fold into traditional and modern design plans. I love the painted wood as it can break up the browns of wonderful mahogany pieces. I put them in in dining rooms, offices and flank two of them next to sofa tables and chests.
